An item with a photo stands out on a QR menu, but a photo shoot for every item takes time and budget. In a newly opened venue or during a menu change, empty image boxes and dark photos taken in a hurry with a phone are common. In RoxPos, AI menu images solve both problems: an image is created from the name of an item with no photo, and the photo you already have is enhanced to look like a studio shot.
Where Do You Find It?
While editing a product or category, two buttons appear next to the image field: "Create with AI" and "Enhance photo". In the panel they are in the product and category settings and in the QR menu editor; in the mobile app they appear when you choose a product or category image. They are shown only in companies that have bought AI credits, so they take up no space in a business that doesn't use them.
Creating an Image from the Name
- Press "Create with AI"; the image is prepared from the product or category name.
- If you like, add a short description, such as "spicy, with flatbread and grilled peppers, on a wooden plate".
- Press "Create"; preparing the image may take up to half a minute.
- If you like it, press "Use this image"; if not, try again with "Create again".
A category image shows one or a few typical items of that category, so a category like "Desserts" or "Cold Drinks" doesn't stay empty on the menu either.
Enhancing a Photo to Look Like a Studio Shot
With "Enhance photo" you choose a photo taken with your phone (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB); in the mobile app you can also take one with the camera right away. The same item is kept: the plate, ingredients and presentation stay as they are. Only the shot changes: lighting and colour balance are corrected, sharpness improves, and the clutter around it is replaced by a clean, plain background. You see the original and the enhanced version side by side and use it if you like it.
How Are Credits Used?
- 1 credit per attempt: creating and enhancing each use 1 credit; if you don't like the result and create again, the new attempt uses another credit.
- Refund if there is no image: the credit is deducted when the attempt starts; if the AI produces no image, it is returned automatically.
- 100-credit package, no expiry: credits are bought as a 100-credit package and used until they run out; they never expire.
- Shared with invoice reading: 1 credit = 1 document page read with AI = 1 image created = 1 image enhanced. Your remaining credits are shown on screen with every attempt.
Tips for a Good Result
- Write a clear name: instead of a single word, names like "Adana kebab" or "Lemon cheesecake" give a more accurate image.
- Describe the presentation: details like the portion, garnish, plate or glass type bring the image closer to how you serve it.
- Keep the item in frame: in a photo to be enhanced the item should be fully visible; the AI keeps the item and only improves the shot.
Getting Started with RoxPos
Credits are bought in the panel under Settings ▸ Licences; users with permission to edit product settings can use the AI options. The same credits are also used for invoice and delivery note reading. The image you save becomes the product or category image just like an uploaded photo and is shown in the QR menu too; a result you don't use is not saved anywhere.
